Home of the brave..... as in the bravest 2 moms, enjoying the random beautiful day in January, with 7 kids
The teacher in me LOVES taking my kids places. I feel like the zoos, farms, vacations, walks, even the grocery store lend to language development that you just can't obtain through books. Starting age 3 months or so, every item I put in my shopping cart, I tell my child what it is. I never let a question go unanswered. I talk about colors, shapes, and events in every day moments. I know it has a huge impact on my kids and their understanding of the world.
This week's zoo day gave the kids the opportunity to see super active winter animals and match the words they know (or are are learning) with the actual animal in the flesh! :)
I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas has a whole new meaning now!

Baby Elephant, Kenzi, made an adorable appearance for us!
Billy took a CLOSE look at an Orangutan.
We got to see a lot of animals from our enjoyable train ride! No pictures of course since I had both arms AND legs strapping in my little ones! AND we learned that Lia does NOT like the tunnels the train goes through! :)
The kids were all OUTSTANDING. Cami & I were SUPER impressed with everyone. Mostly they all stayed strapped in, enjoyed the ride and the view, and we all had a wonderful day!
At one point Cami (mother on ONLY 2) looked like THIS!
