Maddilyn is in the pre-reading stage. Her preschool teacher tells me that reading is a developmental milestone that they just hit when they are ready. As long as you're reading to your kids, they will be good to go. With Maddilyn and I having nap time all to ourselves these days, she and I have been working on some of those skills with a little more structured instruction. My friend
Aubrey gave me a good link to starfall.com that we've been working through. Disclaimer is that the graphics were a little lame, but overall Maddilyn and I have both had a fun time with the site, and I'm seeing positive progress in my little pre-reader! :)
