Happy 9 Month Birthday to Sophia!

Happy Birthday Sophia! :) 9 months already! You are a busy little one! By 9 months the little miss has 2 teeth and is crawling, pulling to stand, putting things in and out of buckets, throwing everything out of the highchair/ stroller / wagon, waving, clapping, banging, and getting into trouble with her friends (ask me about the Desitin disaster if you dare!) :)

In addition to her growing gross motor skills, Sophia's fine motor skills shine. She can find any tiny piece of lent or crumb and will gladly eat them if not carefully watched! :) Speaking of eating, Sophia is a GREAT eater. She eats a full 2nd foods tub of fruit and another one of veggies here (both mixed thickly with oatmeal or rice).... and I hear one more at home. She gladly will take a 4 to 7 oz bottle in between those feasts! :) I don't know where that tall/ skinny thing puts it all! :)
She likes books, but if they crinkle or have paper pages, she would rather eat them than read them! Sophia is very sensory. She loves stroking faces and hair (dogs, kids, dolls, no preference). She likes water and all textures inside and out. She will touch all leaves, grass, carpet, and seems to take in the world through touch! :) She likes things that bang, shake, or make noise, and while she likes to make it happen herself, she also really appreciates when those older babies make noise for her! :)

Sophia is a wonderful baby who plays well with others or independently, is starting to get very brave, and is happy as can be when she feels good. She is flexible to sleep on the go or in a bed, but in the past week or so she is so busy with her motor skills that she would rather play than sleep! :) I've heard her say mama, dada, baba, and other good babbling sounds, but I'm not sure if she uses them with the appropriate people yet since my time with mama and dada is so short! :)

I have grown to love Sophia like my own. It's amazing how you can care for someone and have that protective instinct so quickly for another baby! She has her own room and own crib here since the girls moved in together, and she seems really content rolling around or climbing in her animal bed! Baby Brannan number 3 will have to fight for some space in there! :) I know my girls feel the same way. Maddilyn asks for Sophia all day long every Sat and Sunday and sometimes calls her friend Kristen on the pretend phone to talk about baby Sophia! :)
