Meet Maddilyn. Maddilyn's name means "tower of strength", and at the age of 2, she has lived up to the name! :) Her parents have always loved the nick name Maddi and chose Maddilyn as opposed to the name Maddison since it seemed so trendy. Little did they know, there are lots of Maddie's and Madelyn's out there too, and the idea was not all that original! :) Oh well, the name is beautiful and it fits her perfectly! :) Maddilyn is great at jumping, running, "doing things herself", remembering the words to fun songs, and she just started getting better at swimming and coloring. Maddilyn likes to get at least 12 hours of sleep, eat 3 square meals a day, and still takes an afternoon nap after lunch. The nap can start anywhere between 12 and 3, and is typically an hour. There are more and more days where she lays in bed and sings, reads, plays, postpones, or sometimes even skips the nap, but she continues to go into bed without getting out every afternoon! :) Maddilyn loves talking, dressing up, singing, Dora, Princesses, Tinkerbell, playing with friends, playing with baby dolls, having books read to her, or looking at books alone, instruments, art projects, and dessert. She does not like sitting still, being told "no", "scary" TV shows like Sports Center and whatever her parents want to watch, having to say goodbye to fun things, and things being taken away from her. While she does tend to be a bit of a drama queen, she is a fantastic 2 year old. She seems to have a really deep understanding of empathy at this age. Because of this sensitivity, she does not need much discipline other than being told not to do something. We have to remind her of the rules often, and sometimes explain why we have those rules, but she is a really good listener and always eager to please! Maddi is VERY excited to have lots of babies to take care of and help with this school year, and she is really excited to start preschool and spend some time with some kids her own age too! :) The main concern will be keeping Maddilyn's growing mind busy while taking care of the eating/ sleeping/ diaper needs of the other kids, reminding Maddilyn to practice patience, and teaching her to share! :)
Sweet Maddi! She and Ella are future BFF for sure. Could they BE a little more alike?!
